10. Mawdryn Undead - A bit overcooked, but an excellent return for the Brigadier and a rare use of temporal paradoxes in the classic series. Also includes a great set of villains, whose plan is tied to the show's mythology.
9. The Visitation - Evokes the spirit of the ITV Robin Hood, with a good mystery and an awesome pseudo-companion in thespian Richard Mace.
8. The King's Demons - Charming historical runaround that goes at a breezy pace and doesn't take itself too seriously.
7. Kinda - Clumsier than its successor, but still a very strong psychological story. Hindle's breakdown is very fascinating, the scenes inside Tegan's mind are very well directed and the Mara is a terrific villain.
6. Castrovalva - Less of an adventure and more of a journey of self-discovery.
5. The Five Doctors - An awesome celebration that invites everyone and their kitchen sinks back to Gallifrey for one more adventure.
4. Planet Of Fire - The calm before the storm, so to speak. Here we get to delve into Turlough's interesting backstory, have another fun encounter with the Master and check out Nicola Bryant's assets. It's the Doctor Who equivalent of sipping ice tea.
3. The Caves Of Androzani - A unique, bloodsoaked psychological horror that ends the Fifth Doctor era on a grimdark note.
2. Enlightenment - High concept, imaginative sci-fi at its best. The mystery setting up the story is expertly handled, it weaves together several genres and the Eternals are a very fascinating alien race.
1. Snakedance - A complex character study of our leads in a believable alien environment with its own interesting mythology. The guest stars are terrific, it's extremely tightly scripted and there's a lot for the audience to chew on.
